Sidcup Recycling Centre: Foots Cray Tip Opening Times & Rules
Where to take your rubbish and recycling in Sidcup — the Foots Cray reuse and recycling centre on Maidstone Road, plus Bexley's second site at Thames Road, Crayford.
The London Borough of Bexley runs two household reuse and recycling centres (often called "the tip"), and the closest one to Sidcup is at Foots Cray, on the southern edge of the town.
Foots Cray Reuse and Recycling Centre
- Address: Maidstone Road, Foots Cray, Sidcup, DA14 5HS
- Opening hours: 7:30am to 4:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- Closed: Wednesdays, and on major public holidays
- Access: you can visit by vehicle or on foot
The Foots Cray site is on Maidstone Road, within the DA14 postcode that covers much of Sidcup, making it the natural choice for most Sidcup residents.
Thames Road Reuse and Recycling Centre
Bexley's second centre is a little further away at:
- Address: Thames Road, Crayford, DA1 5QJ
- Opening hours: 7:30am to 4:00pm, seven days a week
- Closed: Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day
- Access: vehicle access only (no pedestrian entry). Vans use the Thames Road transfer station.
What you need to bring
- Proof of address: residents must show a valid driving licence or a Council Tax bill to prove they live in Bexley. The centres are for Bexley residents only.
- No pre-booking: you do not need to book before you visit either site, although there can be waiting times at busy periods such as weekends and bank holidays.
- Vehicle condition: vehicles must have rear seats and windows intact. Van users are restricted to Thames Road and have an annual waste allowance.
Both centres are free for Bexley residents to use for normal household waste and recycling.
Always check the London Borough of Bexley website for the latest opening hours and rules before you travel, as these can change on public holidays.
