ChatGPT and AI for a Small Sidcup Business: What to Do Yourself and What to Install
ChatGPT is useful for writing and thinking. Whether it, or another AI, should be connected to your inbox or diary is a separate decision. A guide to where each belongs, for the owner of a guesthouse or similar.
For help using ChatGPT and AI to grow a small business in Welling or Sidcup, Dean Keating offers coaching to help you understand and use AI, consultancy on which jobs to automate, and installation of agreed workflows. He is based in Horndean, Hampshire, and works remotely. The first call on 07418 627304 is a free discussion.

What ChatGPT is good at
You open it, type, and get a result. That is useful for drafting a description of your business, thinking through a price list, tidying a letter or planning a week of posts. You stay in charge and you copy the answer where you want it.
Connecting AI to your tools
A plain chat session works with whatever you paste into it. Whether ChatGPT, or another AI, is connected to your inbox, diary or other tools depends on the particular setup, the connections it has been approved to use and the permissions you grant. If you want AI to answer messages or follow up on Tuesday, the questions are which setup can do that, who approves the connections and what stays with a person. That is worth discussing with a provider and checking for your own setup, not assuming either way.
A guesthouse example
The directory lists one hotel or place to stay on 10 October 2026. Picture a small guesthouse as a hypothetical illustration of the split.
Use ChatGPT yourself for: the wording of a room description, a welcome note, ideas for the local page, and answers to your own questions about what to offer in winter.
Consider an agreed workflow for: replying to a booking enquiry at ten at night within rules you set, confirming a stay, sending a reminder the day before arrival, answering the questions guests always ask, and preparing the invoice afterwards.
Dean's website lists several of these: answering common questions across email, web and WhatsApp, sending updates, confirmations and reminders, and raising invoices.
Where the town helps
Your guests are looking for things to do. The directory has guides to the town centre, the High Street and Station Road, the parks and Foots Cray Meadows. Linking to them from a welcome message is a small way of making the stay better, and a drafted message is a good job for ChatGPT.
Coaching, consultancy or installation
Dean offers coaching to help you understand and use AI in your own business, including tools such as ChatGPT where they are relevant. He also offers consultancy to assess priorities, tools, constraints and human approvals, and installation to build, connect, test and hand over an agreed workflow, with training for your team. The session format and cost are discussed on the free first call and agreed before paid work. See also AI business coach.
About the provider
He is based in Horndean, Hampshire, so the work is remote. The first call is a free discussion, and scope and costs are agreed before any paid work. If you prefer someone local, include one in your comparison.
